I have helped develop an evidence based training program using the state of the art virtual reality simulator (EyeSi VR magic) and have built and developed home simulation kits for training junior doctors. My role has included training of junior eye surgeons many of whom are now consultants across the UK, as well as running national and international surgical workshops in cataract, glaucoma and oculoplastic surgery.

Beyond my practice, the majority of time is spent with my family, enjoying an active musical and outdoor life. I live in Surrey with my wife and three children. We enjoy long country rambles, sailing, fly fishing and tinkering with classic cars. I have recently (2025) completed a Porsche 356 kit car project and am working on the restoration of an Aston Martin DBSV8. I also enjoy playing the Trumpet and listening to classical music; my favourite musician/players being the exquisitely talented Wynton Marsalis and Allen Vizzutti - I highly recommend a quick listen!

Having grown up in the Westcountry in Tavistock, I have a passion for the outdoors and regularly enjoy wild camping on Dartmoor and sea kayaking expeditions along the south coast.
